Collection of Personal Information

We may collect information from you which is:

• General information:  this is information which is anonymous data that we use to analyse trends for general use and to help us understand the needs of our customers so that we can improve the quality of your stay with us.  General information includes the number of room nights booked and used, where guests are from, room rates, age, gender, purpose of travel and whether the booking is made by telephone, through a booking agency or through our website and services used by guests during their stay our Homestay.
• Personal information:  Personal Information is any information that personally identifies you such as your name, age and date of birth, home address, contact telephone numbers and email address, your driver’s licence and passport, your credit card details, your company name if the travel is for business purposes, your car registration number and how the account will be settled.  We may obtain from you whether you have any dietary requirements, room preferences, disabilities or other lifestyle information.  While staying with us, we may record the number of times you have stayed, telephone numbers dialled, movies watched, room service ordered, third party bookings which we arrange at your request such as tours and other information you supply to us. Personal information may be collected from you if you make an enquiry by telephone, email, via our websites, when you make a reservation or at the time of check in or check out or as a result of your dealings with us during your stay at our Homestay. Personal information may be collected from a partner organisation, booking agency, a tour operator or an internet reservation system to whom you have provided your Personal Information to make a booking at our Homestay. Personal information may also be collected from you if you enter a competition run by us, if you reply to a survey conducted by us, in communications with us or our staff, before, during or after your stay or if you attend an event, function or conference at our Samar Villa use social media to communicate with guests and the public at large.  Any information which you disclose to Samar Villa through social media may be collected by Samar Villas monitors public areas of our Homestay by close circuit television and may collect information about you as a result. We may also collect Personal Information from you if the law requires us to collect that information.

In order to provide you with our services, we keep track of how you interact with links. This includes links in emails we send you and links that appear on our website.

You can object to us using your Personal Information as described in this Policy.  However, if you do, Samar Villa may not be able to provide you with the service requested or only on conditions such as, for example, requiring a cash deposit or bond if you do not wish to provide your credit card details to our Homestay.

You may request that you do not receive direct marketing communications from us.  If you make a request, we will respond to that request as soon as reasonably practicable.

You may request that your Personal Information is not provided to our partner organisations.

Samar Villa do not disclose Personal Information to overseas recipients except to booking agencies which you have used to make a booking with our Homestay and which require information to confirm or manage your booking with our Homestay.  In those circumstances, Samar Villa will notify the booking agency of Samar Villa privacy policy and seek an undertaking from that booking agency that it will comply with Samar Villa policy.  The personal information which is provided by Samar Villa to a booking agency is limited to the information required for that purpose of managing your booking.

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. Google Analytics uses cookies placed on your computer to help the website analyse how users use the site. A cookie is a small data file that may be placed on the computer of a web user (usually in the browser software folder) the first time a computer visits a web site which operates cookies.  Cookies are necessary to facilitate online transactions and ensure security.  If you do not wish to receive any cookies you may set your browser to refuse cookies.  This may mean you will not be able to take full advantage of our farm’s services.  Samar Villa do not use cookies to keep personal profiles of its customers’ use of the Samar Villa websites, only to determine the current server to which you are connected on.  If your browser is set to refuse cookies, you may not be able to connect to Samar Villa websites.

Targeted advertisements

Based on your activities on our website, targeted adverts and internet-based offers in the form of varying display banners may be presented to you whilst browsing. Our partner organisations may also use cookies to gather information based on your browsing interests and activities to provide you with advertising.

We are committed to take reasonable precautions to protect the security of your Personal Information.  This includes limiting access to our computer systems by use of passwords and other security devices and to prevent unauthorized access, modification, use or disclosure and backup systems to prevent accidental or malicious loss of data or information.

 Anonymity and Pseudonymity

If you wish to stay in our farms on an anonymous basis, we will not be able to accommodate your request.

Damage to Homestay property – We reserve the right to charge guests the cost of rectifying damage, caused by the deliberate, negligent or reckless act of the guest to the Homestay property or structure. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right to make a charge to the guest's credit / debit card or send an invoice for the amount to the registered address. We will however make every effort to rectify any damage internally prior to contracting specialists to make the repairs, and therefore will make every effort to keep any costs that the guest would incur to a minimum.

Removal of Homestay Property – We reserve the right to charge guests the cost of replacing any items that are removed from the premises by them without consent. The charge will be the full replacement amount of the missing item, including any carriage charges. Should the fact that the item is missing come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right to make a charge to the guest's credit/debit card or send an invoice for the amount to the registered address.

Homestay Liability Depend on the Guest's Actions

The farm is typically not liable for loss or damage of guest's valuable if the loss was caused by the guest's own fault. For example, if you negligently and end up losing your property, you cannot place the blame on the farm. A common occurrence involves the safe for your valuables provided by a farm room. If you don't use the safe and your valuables are stolen, some states will hold that the farm is not liable since you could have protected your valuables but did not do so.

Payment Bond

At the time of check in, if you do not wish to provide credit card details, you must pay for the cost of your stay in full in advance and you will be required to pay in cash a bond on account of services or facilities that are provided to you during your stay at our Homestay.  The cash bond will be refunded to you on your departure provided that your rooms are left in good order and you have paid for all services supplied by our Homestay and there are no other outstanding liabilities.

Age Restrictions

We do not knowingly collect personal information from or target individuals under the age of 18. If you are a parent or legal guardian and know of or have reason to believe your children under the age of 18 have provided us with personal information without your permission, please contact us.
